Voles. Think mole that looks like a mouse. I mowed the lawn yesterday and not one hour later there was a new pile of dirt in my lawn. It's the 6th pile in a few days. This WAS new lawn. I was furious. AM furious. Clearly, I'm fighting the battle but losing the war. I found numerous new feeding tunnels in our hillside last night. We've cleared 40 dead voles from traps the past month. Washed a dead one out of a drain last night.
And still no success.
They look cute, right?

Until you see these feeding holes/dens ALL over your newly landscaped yard.

And with teeth like this...you better see the dentist regularly. Or just eat boxwoods to keep them shiny.

Trust me. NOT cute!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
this sounds like the losing battle i've been fighting with the ants in my house for the last 6 months. sometimes i wish i could breed as fast as these pests apparently do! :)
40?!? You have a regular vole breeding ground up there. Seriously that sucks. Our neighbors have a vole problem that they haven't taken care of and now the voles are making their way down the hill and will soon be in our yard. Sweet, can't wait.
Good luck with your fight. Don't give up.
Ick! So sorry you have to deal with this in your, otherwise, little corner of paradise. :)
You are being invaded!! I hope those suckers never come here! Nature is formidable. Keep researching, and good luck! Glad David does the traps for you! I'd be sunk!
hey debs! so you read baby wise?! i finished it last week
i know, i know. i should have woken fletch up to eat. but he was off his schedule a bit that day and hadn't slept well. so i let him sleep.
did you follow the program totally by the book? did any of your kids have trouble with napping long and what did you do about it- did you let them cry it out? when did your kids start sleeping thru the night, like how long had you followed the program before that happened?
i am following the program pretty well. some days easier than others i must say. any advice about the book would be great! thnx : )
sum
Did YOU take those photos? Sorry. We're going through a mouse phase. Everyone stepped in the glue traps yesterday: me, Anna, Julia. I ended up throwing away 2 traps...and then heard a mouse scratching away while I folded laundry. If I weren't so nonplussed by now I might actually be disgusted by them. Hope you're getting a break from them!
Wow, I've never even heard of those things, that's pretty crazy! I wonder if you can smoke them out somehow, maybe connect the tailpipe of your car to the entrance or something? I hope you find something that works for you!
