Who knew all this fuss over a box of cookies could raise such a ruckus? Well it did. And then I got to thinking...we love our cookies...don't we? That's where the passion comes from. (And goes straight to my hips & thighs...oh heck...I even have back fat!)
After revealing Lorna Doone's to my poor sister, another sister reminisced about Lemon Coolers. Oohhh, I could eat a whole box of those in one sitting just for memories sake. Really, I could. (I'm sure I have!)
I'm truly not a huge fan of store-bought cookies. I'll confess to pulling out a batch of Nestle Tollhouse already made just cut and bake on a semi-regular basis and claiming the fanfare I receive from bringing that smell into the kitchen. But I only like those when they're warm.

But I do love a pinwheel. Marshmallowey goodness sitting atop a crumbly graham cracker cookie, topped with chocolate. Delish. And you can't really make those. Smores don't taste the same. Love 'em. That's a special treat once in a blue moon.
So I'm wondering, what's your favorite store-bought cookie? No contest, just curious?! And if you don't know what it is, Grapefruit, it's time you frequented that aisle of the grocery store just to stay informed. It's how the other half lives.

ALRIGHT! If you'd mentioned Lemon Coolers the first time round I would have known what you were talking about. I used to love those as a kid, but I haven't had them in ages. They remind me of Mom.
My favorite store bought cookie, and yes, I have one, is a tie between Le Petit Ecolier and Bastonge cookies. Slightly more gourmet than Laura whatever her name is, but you wouldn't expect anything less, would you?
Besides Lorna Doones, the favorite always has been and always will be Wedding Cookies. They come in a pink box. Mmmmmm
I'm a simple girl--I like grasshopper cookies and iced oatmeal cookies. But I don't eat either of them very often.
P.S. I have back fat too...
And even Grapefruit's store-bought cookies sound like French gourmet delicacies! :) At least she's consistent in what she loves!
I like the girl scout thin mints, but when I can't get those, grasshoppers suffice. Also there are some cookies my mom always gets at Christmas time, they come assorted in a box in little muffin cups and just melt in your mouth, but I can't remember the brand. Those always bring back memories.
This post reminds me of an old movie (you're all going to laugh) Troop Beverly Hills. Shelly Long...anyone remember? Random I know. But they sing a song when they're selling cookies....
"It's cookie time, it's cookie time, it's cookie tiiimmmeee".
Chocolate dipped shortbread cookies would have to be a fav. Savory and sweet (but not too sweet). Mmmmm
I love animal crackers in those cute little packages for kids! (Who would have guessed?) I also love gingersnaps-- but only good brands) and--because I'm nuts about nuts-- Pecan Sandies. I can handle a Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookie, and sometimes one or two Oreos. Those are my favorites.
For homemade cookies, I just love a fresh, warm old-fashioned peanut-butter cookie!
i'm here! and alive! and i love mint oreos, grasshoppers, and thin mint. really, anything chocolate and mint. i'm a fan!
i also love white fudge covered oreos. they only have them out for christmas. my mom used to buy me a box and wrap them and put them under the tree. now i buy them for myself. it's not quite the same, but i love them - especially dunked in hot chocolate!
I notice that Bex's cookie even had a French name. :)
I love those, too!
The other cookie I would nominate is the Gingerman cookies from Pepperidge Farms. Second is their Mint Milanos.
Definitely grasshopper cookies. On sale at Smith's right now -just had some yesterday. Even better frozen.
