Just Cause it was Cute!
I took my son and daughter to frozen yogurt yesterday after school...it was a minimum day -- reason enough to celebrate, but more so because the sun shone in all it's glory! A lovely, celebratory 70 degrees.
The place is called Tops Yogurt. It's Hayden's favorite. Which is funny cuz he gets plain vanilla yogurt, NOTHING to top it off with. Lindsay, on the other hand, makes a delectable creation. Raspberry yogurt, fresh raspberries, strawberries, bananas, whipped cream topped with almonds. Yah, that weighed in at about 4 lbs. Good thing I had a coupon! Anyway, we sat out in the sun and I enjoyed watching my kids nearly moan about how good that fro yo tasted.
Until Hayden started to moan about this: Clutching his forehead...
"Oh man...I have FREEZE BRAIN!"
Don't you just love 6 year olds!

LOVE the sun!! Amazing what some vitamin D will do for ya. What a great way to spend a minimum day. Hayden is too cute with his plain yogurt, I like that-he's a simple kinda guy ; )
Frozen yogurt will always hold a special place in my heart & thinking back to my first job at Glacier Pete's (which is now a nail salon right next to Beach Hut Deli). But alas, I got fired for leaving customers in line while I ran outside to kick some girls butt (seriously, I left customers in line to go get in a fight)..oh to be sixteen again.
I was just reading my journal the other night to the kids and we all had a good laugh over some of Paige's comments from the past:
"Mom, I can't wait for the CRACK NUT!" (Nutcracker.)
There were about a million others she'd mix up like Hayden's slip today. So cute!
I LOVE fro yo and it's hard to find around here.
And oh...to NEVER be sixteen again... (But I could go for some of those peach flavored gummy penguins right now Sum!)
We have a place here called Yoasis that I've enjoyed quite a bit over the last couple of years. And nothing worse than a brain freeze! :)
P.S. And the high was 6o degrees here today. Yahoo! :D
Wow, that was a flashback post for me... it's been a while since I've heard it called "minimum day", I think that is a California thing, we call it "early out" here.
And frozen yogurt...haven't had that in a while either, but in college I would go buy a half gallon size and eat it all within about 5 minutes (for some reason, "freeze brain" is a phenomenon I have never experienced).
Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
LOVE that boy! Can't wait to see him again and to watch he and Peter play.
That Hayden is just too cute! I am a fan of fro yo too, but Livingstons introduced us to a whole new treat last night that is absolutely delicious and refreshing. It is called Island Way sorbet from Cosco. The sorbet comes in individual servings of pineapple, orange and coconut shells! Soooo good.
Tell Lindsay I'll join her for a 4 lb sundae. I love to pile the good stuff on top too!
Yo sis! Miss you alredy. Just wanted to tell you I had a great weekend with you last week. Mom's party was great, and hanging out was even better.
Thanks for helping out with the kids.
Love ya.
