Second guessing her decision to "allow" me to contact the vice-principal about the hitting issue, (I'm being generous here...she really had no choice), Mallory went to bed very nervous about going to school the next day. "I don't want to go." Being the soft-hearted mother that I am, I replied: "These are the things that make you stronger. You have to learn to stick up for yourself and standing up for the right thing. Rarely is that easy." Oh my. That is the loving equivalent of "Suck it up!" Ahh, the preaching comes so easily. I come from a long line of preachers. Anyway, as comforting as that wasn't, her exhausted body gave into the throws of sleep. This morning I asked how she was feeling and she said she felt okay. She was ready to face the music. Little did she know, I had also emailed her home room teacher in hopes that he might spur the vice-principal into action. This worked.
When I watched Mallory and her friend walking out of PE class, just 24 hours after the latest "incident" -- they were all smiles. She got called into the VP's office to discuss the situation and he made her feel very comfortable that everything would be taken care of and the "alleged" (we're so warped) bully would be spoken to and warned, and she was. Should it happen again, she is to report directly to him and disciplinary action would be taken. The rest of the day...cake-walk.
When are they gonna learn?

You are the best Fairy Godmother EVER! :) I'm glad it worked out so well. :)
Mother does know best and even though you come from a long line of preachers, you always manage to come across as non-preachy to your children. Love that about you. Hope Mal hangs in there and this situation goes away. Now...where are you? I call you on your cell/home and can't catch up w/you. Oh well...tomorrow morning I guess. MITCHELL is GRUMPY, so probably not a good time now...
I am so glad for her! Great feeling to have fear lifted. I am happy to report that I have also had no reports of bullying lately, so the principal must have talked to the boys also. Thank goodness.
